Wine and dine: Flatbread pizza with a white wine Spritzer

In the summer we love to have drinks and dinner parties. You can go to a terrace for this, but you can also do this in your own backyard or on the balcony. And the evening wouldn’t be complete without a nice dinner and a good bottle of wine. That’s why we came up with a light, summery dish and a sparkling drink: flatbread pizza and a white wine Spritzer. The fresh meal with a light wine makes this the perfect ‘wine and dine’ combination for a summer day!

What do you need? (6 servings)

• 600 gr Italian pasta sauce

• 210 gr flat bread

• 100 gr rucola

• 250 gr cherry tomatoes

• 150 gr black olives

• fresh basil

• mozzarella

• pepper and salt

• optional: red pepper

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.
  • Spread out 100 gr of Italian pasta sauce per flat bread.
  • Cut the cherry tomatoes, the olives and the mozzarella into slices.
  • Finely chop the basil and red pepper (optional).
  • Cover the pizza’s with the tomatoes, olives, mozzarella, basil and optionally the red pepper.
  • Place the pizza’s in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Let them cool off and start making your white wine Spritzer’s!

Wine tip: White wine Spritzer

What do you need? (4 Spritzer’s)

• 400 ml white wine (use a Pinot Grigio or a Viognier)

• 800 ml sparkling water

• 1 orange

• ice cubes

Preparation:

  • The white wine and the sparkling water have to be cold. You can use a nice wine cooler. This way your wine will stay cold, even if you’re sitting in the garden.
  • 2. Pour 100 ml white wine and 200 ml sparkling water into a wine glass (four times for four glasses). Fill with ice cubes and finish with an orange wedge!
